The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that on Monday, an earthquake measuring magnitude 5.8 struck the sub-prefecture-level city of Aral in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. Aral is surrounded by Aksu Prefecture.
EMSC posted a tweet that read, “Earthquake M5.8 occurred 106 km SE of #Aral (#China) 11 min ago (local time 05:49:37).”
