A day before a White Paper on Singapore’s response to COVID-19 is scheduled to be debated in Parliament, the survey results from an online poll with 1,052 respondents were made public.
In a government survey, more than 70% of Singaporeans thought their overall quality of life was the same or better in 2023 than it was in 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, compared to before the pandemic, a greater percentage of youths between the ages of 15 and 19 reported a decrease in their mental health management skills and quality of life.
RySense carried out the survey, which was commissioned by the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI), from January 31 to February 6. 1,052 Singaporeans aged 15 and older participated in the online survey.
The findings were made public on Sunday, March 19, one day before Parliament is scheduled to discuss a White Paper on Singapore’s response to COVID-19.
The country’s successes and failures during the pandemic are examined in the White Paper.
Minister for Communications and Information Josephine Teo referred to COVID-19 as “the crisis of our generation” in posts she made on Facebook and LinkedIn.
“It seriously tried the capacity of our chiefs and government, as well as the versatility of our kin,” she said in her posts on Sunday.
