According to the embassy’s official WeChat account, the Chinese embassy in Seoul and other consulates “will resume issuing short-term visas for Korean citizens to visit China, for business, transit, and other private affairs” starting on Saturday.
After Seoul and Tokyo imposed Covid measures on travelers from China, where coronavirus cases were soaring at the time, China ended visa-free transit for South Korean and Japanese citizens last month.

After the government abruptly abandoned strict Covid policies that required quarantines for all arrivals, China has seen an increase in outbound travel.
