Apple has begun hiring employees for staff stores as it prepares to open brick-and-mortar stores in India soon.

New openings for 12 retail positions, including store leaders, senior managers, Genius Bar employees, and others, can be found in the company’s most recent job postings, which are located in “various locations” across the nation.

Full-time and part-time positions for the Apple Store are listed in the listings on Apple’s website and LinkedIn profile. However, there are no indications regarding the number of open positions.

The Economic Times reported in 2022 that Apple intended to open a 22,000-square-foot store in Mumbai at the start of 2023. Along with a number of other stores across the nation, Apple was also working on a store in New Dehli with 10,000 to 12,000 square feet.

In 2020, Apple made its online store available to Indian customers for the first time. Around the same time, CEO Tim Cook hinted that Apple would open a physical store. Cook said, “I don’t want someone else to run the brand for us.” He was referring to the third-party retailers that currently sell iPhones to Indian customers in physical stores.

The pandemic was primarily to blame for Cook and Apple’s decision to postpone opening their first Indian store in 2021.

For a number of years, Apple has been attempting to establish their own retail lines in India. The tech giant has had to deal with authorized resellers and third-party sellers for a number of years, who frequently stow away their most in-demand items and charge a premium for them.

In addition, Apple is moving key device production from China to India in an effort to increase its presence in India. In 2017, Apple started making iPhones in India, and a few weeks after the iPhone 14 was released, the company moved production from China to India.

Not only for political reasons, but also to cut costs and, more importantly, keep production and supply chains running, Apple has been attempting to leave China. In addition, Apple has discovered a huge, virtually untapped smartphone market in India.
