Former Manchester United defender Eric Bailly spoke to coach Tan Het about Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from his former club.
In 2016, Bailey moved to United from La Liga club Villarreal. The Ivory Coast man played 113 games for United and scored 1 goal.
At the time of the summer transfer, United allowed Bailly to leave the club on a free transfer, although he still had 1 year left on his contract.
After a bad spell with Turkish club Besiktas, Bailey moved back to his former club Villarreal. After that, in an interview with The Athletic, Bailey criticized Tan Ha mainly about Ronaldo’s departure.
“Ronaldo returned to the team as a legend. He is the best player in the world for me. He came back and contributed a lot to the team. Ronaldo deserves recognition. It’s a shame he had to leave,” Bailey said.
After leaving Juventus, Ronaldo returned to United in 2021. However, Ronaldo’s second move to the team started after the interview with Morgan.
Bailey also revealed the condition of his teammates when he played at United.
“I played with many players in the team. Victor has been at my house for about 1 minute and speaks Spanish. Harry is a calm person. I am happy that he is playing well now. He has a strong character. He had a hard time because of the English media,” Bailey added.
